Colombian state-owned shipyard Cotecmar launched the ARC 24 de Julio offshore patrol vessel (OPV) from its facility in Cartagena de Indias on July 29, 2025.
The ARC 24 de Julio is the first ocean patrol vessel entirely designed and built in Colombia.
This ship is the lead ship of the Patrullero Oceánico Colombiano (POC) class which was previously designated OPV-93C/E.
The number 93 refers to the total length of the ship, the “C” version corresponds to the model configured for the Colombian Navy (Colombia), and the “E” version is intended for export.
The ship has an overall length of 93 m, a beam of 14.2 m, and a draft of 3.9 m. Its displacement is approximately 2,665 tons.
As its propulsion, the ship is powered by four CODAD diesel engines (2,200 kW each) and two CODELOD units (4,800 kW each).
