This is the first episode about the making of a handle for a two way switchable ratchet mechanism. This video is a follow on from my videos about gear cutting and making a ratchet gear. This is part of a clock mainspring winder that I am making for my horological or clockmaking small workshop. I n this episode there is milling machine work to form radiussed ends; shaper work to form the tapered sides; and lathe work to machine the fittings.
