Truth be told, I've been very under the weather for the past week.
But the sun was out, the frost was gone, I had some voice back, and since I'd spent a big chunk of my time being sick self-medicating by listening to one amazing gems-in-the-rough-2023 submission after another, I thought I would see if I could make it through a song of my own well enough to add something to the bunch.
Here it is--a ballad about recovery from heartbreak, but maybe more than that it's a reflection on the idea that nobody's an island, and how much we need one another even when we don't know how to ask for help.
