Episode 41 Week 35 | When do babies begin to crawl

This week Gia reached another exciting milestone—she crawled out of her playpen for the very first time and was given the freedom to explore the house. Her curiosity led her straight into the office, where she played with books and discovered everything within her reach. Of course, she doesn’t yet know what not to touch, like the cat’s food bowl, so supervision is always close by. Crawling on the smooth floor was a new challenge since she was used to the traction of the playpen mat, and at times she slipped. Because she now knows how to stand up with support, we gave her a pair of kneepads and even a baby backpack that protects her head and back if she falls backwards. With these new tools, Gia loved every moment of her freedom, crawling proudly and happily from room to room.
이번 주 지아는 또 하나의 특별한 순간을 맞이했습니다. 처음으로 아기 울타리(플레이펜) 밖으로 기어 나와 집안을 자유롭게 탐험한 거예요. 호기심 가득한 지아는 곧장 서재로 향해 책을 만지며 놀았고, 집안 곳곳을 탐색했어요. 물론 아직은 고양이 밥그릇 같은 “손대면 안 되는 것들”을 잘 몰라서 늘 지켜봐야 합니다. 플레이펜 안의 매트와 달리 매끄러운 바닥에서는 미끄러지기도 했습니다. 이제는 지지대를 잡고 스스로 설 수 있기 때문에, 저희는 지아에게 무릎 보호대와 아기 안전 백팩을 착용시켜 혹시 뒤로 넘어지더라도 등을 보호할 수 있게 했습니다. 덕분에 지아는 한층 더 안전하게, 그리고 무엇보다 즐겁게 집안을 기어 다니며 세상을 넓혀 갔습니다.
