#1 South Oak Cliff vs Mount Pleasant | Texas High School Football Playoffs

In the midst of a rain storm, the South Oak Cliff Golden Bears washed the Mount Pleasant Tigers out of the playoffs 46-7 in the 2nd round.

At the beginning of the first quarter, Mount Pleasant completed a 40+ yard gain on a trick pass play, only to have the momentum extinguished by a goal line interception followed by a 2 hour rain delay.

From that point forward, the game belonged to the Golden Bears. SOC’s defense limited Mount Pleasant to a meager 93 total offensive yards and only 5 first downs. With the rain playing a major factor, SOC relied heavily on the ground game, stringing together a total of 230 rushing yards, mainly between their senior backfield specialists Levon Morton and Mikail Trotter.

Head Coach Jason Todd was reluctant to celebrate the win but ultimately accepted it for what it was.

“There were kind of a lot of distractions. You know, with the weather and stuff like that. But I think we kind of found our footing a little bit. We still got stuff to clean up but at the end of the day, we take a victory for what it is, a victory” - Jason Todd, SOC Head Coach

SOC will take on Terrell in Round 3 of the playoffs at Better Life Stadium in Forney, Texas on November 28, 2025.
