In a country that emerged from an agreement between several nationalities, shaped by compromises between cultures, this unity is reflected in its cuisine. The typical specialties in Uruguay—what is liked and eaten in this country—are often adaptations and refinements of the original dishes from various cultural groups.
In this video, we take a look at some of them: the ever-present panchos, choripán, and chivitos. Which of these is truly Uruguayan? One of them, at least, was verifiably born here—in Uruguay! And Uruguayans are proud of it. Rightfully so, in my opinion!
