Xencelabs Welcomes Kim Lee as Artist Spotlight for July 2025!

Kim Lee has worked as an animator, visual effects artist and supervisor, technical director, director, author, teacher, and community leader. His work in both the digital and physical realms includes commercials for clients such as JPMorgan Chase Bank, American Express Company, Google, Panasonic and Lexus as well as feature-film development at Walt Disney Animation Studios. His recent work blends his strong background in digital production with electronics, programming, carpentry, and mechanics with 3d printing and his custom built cnc machine.

His training, teaching and speaker experience include Pratt Institute, SVA, NYU, MENSA, Autodesk, Siggraph, IBC, NAB and EUE. Kim has written for numerous publications, including 3ds Max 2010 Architectural Visualization: Advanced to Expert (published by 3DATS) and Inside 3ds Max 4 (published by New Riders Press).

Kim has been a Senior CG Generalist at FuseFX and then CG Supervisor working on Visual Effects for countless episodic TV series such as American Primeval, The Diplomat, DMZ, Mr. Robot, The Blacklist, The Tick, Prodigal Son, The Flight Attendant, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher. Recently he has worked with Small Bands of Misbehavior on experiential events such as HBO's Dune Prophecy Experience at NY Comic Con 2024.
