Daday Falls in Alamada, North Cotabato, is the highest and biggest waterfall in the municipality, with an estimated height of about 55 meters (around 180 feet) and a 90-degree vertical drop. It sits between rugged terrain and farms in Barangay Dado, flowing through a deep ravine and is considered a hidden gem in the area. The falls are approximately 4 kilometers north of the well-known Asik-Asik Falls.
Reaching the falls involves a challenging trail, often steep and slippery, and visitors typically hire local guides who provide habal-habal (motorcycle) rides from the town proper to Brgy. Dado and then to the waterfall. The trip is known for its natural beauty, including moss-covered cliffs and wildflowers around the pool at the base of the falls.
For visitors coming from nearby cities like Cagayan de oro, General Santos, Davao, or Cotabato City, the route includes bus travel to Alamada, then jeepney or habal-habal rides to Barangay Dado. Entrance fees apply, and local guides can facilitate the trip for a fee.
Daday Falls is accessible to the public, operating from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a natural pool at its base ideal for cooling off but the water is very cold. The area is less touristy compared to Asik-Asik Falls, making it attractive for those seeking a more off-the-beaten-path adventure.
