How to Accent with Fusion Mineral Paint, Wax and Glaze | Capriole Creative

In this video, Ms. Jennylyn shows us three different methods on how to accent with Fusion Mineral Paint, Glaze and Wax. Each of these techniques or methods will give you a different look and finish. So, without further ado, let’s get down to the techniques.

The first method is, applying Fusion Furniture Copper Wax using a waxing brush to highlight it into the areas and brush it on. As she went on, you can see that what she did was to add a nice light shimmer and that the surface has a subtle finish. Among the three methods, this is the simplest and easy to do.

The second method is by applying Fusion Mineral Paint Copper Metallic on to the surface. This is a great way to add accent and get a really beautiful authentic color from the painted surface. She made sure to wipe off the excess and ensure that she was just dry brushing. In this method, the application was done horizontally and ever so gently, allowing the tip of the brush to touch some of the raised detailing areas. Automatically, you will see the difference between it and the waxed area. This method is highly recommended if you are doing any sort of hardware since the paint tends to stand out a bit more.

The way of adding accent to a surface is by using Metallic Glaze, which also offers a different look. In this method, 3 parts of Fusion Clear Glaze and one part of Fusion Mineral Paint Copper Metallic were mixed. Now, this is just an estimate ratio. You can definitely decide how much you need as you mix the two solutions up. It’s also best to try the mixture onto another surface to get an insight of how the mixture looks. Unlike the second method, this method requires you to apply it heavily with your brush and just wipe off the excess. What this does is to add a sort of stain finish to your project. Just like the wax, you want to remove a fair bit of the glaze.
