Difference between Indian Languages & English
English is spoken by around 1.5 billion people in the world. It is by far the most studied language around the globe. The popularity of the English Language in India is pretty evident by the fact that we have the second highest English-speaking population second only to the United States.
With the rate at which English speakers are growing in India, you might see India at the top of that list of English-speaking populations soon. So, it is safe to say that English is a popular language in India.
But India has its own beautiful languages. The eighth schedule of the Constitution of India lists 22 languages which are:
Assamese
Bengali (Bangla)
Bodo
Dogri
Gujarati
Hindi
Kannada
Kashmiri
Konkani
Maithili
Malayalam
Meitei (Manipuri)
Marathi
Nepali
Odia
Punjabi
Sanskrit
