How We Form Opinions

It's always easy to tell the simplest story, and of course none of these stories are simple, but I hate when conversation gets driven into the places where we feel we need to protect our identities and keep us safe within our communities. We should not need to feel that way about things that are either obviously true or obviously in need of open minds and more data.

But I suppose expecting humans to not be ridiculsouly social animals driven largely by in-group, out-group effects would be very silly of me.
