"A star-studded program, to be presented by headliners of radio and the theatre, will be the gala feature of the evening as WOR makes its formal debut with its new 50,000 watt transmitter…From 8 to 11 P.M. the radio audience will hear this program being presented in New York’s citadel of music, Carnegie Hall, where visible guests will include leaders of government, business and the professions."
"A novel feature to be included in the Carnegie Hall program will be five piano musical selection played by WOR’s two piano duos, Al and Lee Reiser and [Lee] Conrad and [Marjorie] Tremont and “The Whirlwind Pianist,” Pauline Alpert."
