Welcome back to the Journey! In Phase 1 of our landing project, we are finally getting the gabion baskets filled. We decided to source all of our rock locally—meaning, right from our own backyard. It’s a lot of manual labor and tractor work, but using native stone saved us a fortune in material costs.

The Project "Boo-Boo": Every project has its challenges, and this one included a surprise. While finishing the French drain system, I ended up hitting the water line to our animal spigot. I had to scramble to the well house for spare parts to get the water back on for the livestock!
