Uncover the fascinating history of the Otago – a ship once crewed by the great novelist Joseph Conrad.
Built in Glascow in 1869, the Otago was a three-masted iron barque ship, the wreck of which now lies on the shores of Otago Bay on Hobart’s outskirts.
Watch this short film to learn more about the Otago's intriguing story and its links to Joseph Conrad, as told by Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service historic heritage section leader and maritime archaeologist Mike Nash, alongside Transportation Press editor in chief Rachel Edwards.
