🌱 What the Reserve Offers — Habitats & Wildlife
The reserve’s habitats include shallow lakes, marshland, woodland, grassland and a wildflower meadow. Native trees (oak, alder, ash) have been planted, and older plantations (poplars) removed to improve biodiversity.

Wildlife is rich and varied. The water bodies support waterfowl and breeding birds such as Gadwall, Pochard, Little Grebe, Tufted Duck, and more.

The meadow, hedgerows and woodland attract butterflies, dragonflies, insects, woodland birds, and small mammals. There’s was a Barn Owl box in the meadow which has successfully fledged young.

The reserve is particularly significant for certain species — for example, it’s a habitat for the rare Nathusius' pipistrelle bat following a wetland restoration project.
