I made this video to show something I started doing to most of my larger LGB switches. I am imbedding a brass strip in the "frog", which allows greater conductivity and less of a dead spot.
I hope you find this informative/useful.
Edit: I recommend using stainless steel or aluminum strips instead of brass. Aluminum will resist oxidization / corrosion much better than brass and will require a lot less maintenance.
