These video clips show the third phase of the steady beat unit found in Kodály in the Kindergarten Classroom by Dr. Micheál Houlahan and Dr. Philip Tacka. Some of the activities have been modified to address the needs of the students in this classroom, but the philosophy and curriculum are derived from the book. This video does not show the kinesthetic or aural review that is part of the lesson. I do have another video uploaded that features the full review.
I was trained by both of these educators, and helped field test and pilot the curriculum.
My name is Lauren Bain and I teach in a K-5 Title 1 public school in New Braunfels, Tx. These videos are uploaded to show the real-life application of the curriculum, with real-life circumstances and students. Perfection is not the goal!
