Welcome to my very first video! 🤙🔥
We recently moved into this neighbourhood and discovered an awesome MTB trail that was actually built by local kids. Over the past three years they’ve turned a tiny piece of land into something seriously impressive — and now it’s become one of our favourite places to ride as a family.
As a complete beginner mountain biker, this trail has been the perfect place for me to learn: rolling over obstacles, hitting small berms, and building real confidence without the pressure of advanced riders. My kids love it too — they’re learning to trust their bikes and ride off-road safely.
But during one of our rides… something unexpected happened. Hidden in the tall grass was an old, rusted 27.5” Trek Marlin. Completely abandoned.
That moment changed everything.
I’ve always wanted to try fixing up an old bike. I’m a massive fan of Seth from Berm Peak and his Flip Bike videos — they’ve inspired me for years. But I’ve never done anything like this before… and I’ve definitely never made YouTube videos. Still, finding that bike didn’t feel like a coincidence. It felt like a nudge from God to finally start something I’ve wanted to do, but never had the confidence to try.
So here we go.
This channel is all about:
✔️ Learning MTB skills as a beginner
✔️ Fixing bikes from scratch (with lots of mistakes along the way 😂)
✔️ Exploring New Zealand trails
✔️ Sharing honest progress — wins, fails, and everything in-between
I’ll be posting updates as we bring the abandoned Trek back to life, plus more trail rides around Aotearoa as my skills and courage grow.
