Bournemouth Oceanarium, located on the picturesque south coast of England, is a captivating marine attraction that offers visitors an immersive journey into the wonders of the ocean. Opened in 1998, the Oceanarium sits right on Bournemouth beachfront, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike.

One of the standout features of the Oceanarium is its diverse range of aquatic habitats. It houses a series of themed zones, each replicating different marine ecosystems found around the world. From the undergrowth of the Amazon to the tranquility of the creatures from Africa and Asia. Guests can also see the Otter Oasis as the adorable otters swim, splash, feed, and play in their naturally themed oasis.

Oceanarium Bournemouth features the Penguin Beach Encounter, a custom-built exhibit replicating penguins' natural habitat with a deep pool, beach, and nesting boxes. Visitors can watch the graceful penguins dip and dive through water from the glass-fronted beach walkway and underwater viewing windows. This centerpiece required a £1.5 million investment and five years of planning, expanding the aquarium's size by a third since its opening in 1998.

The highlight of Oceanarium Bournemouth is the Shark Wreck Reef walk-through tunnel, where visitors can marvel at sharks, rays, and the giant Loggerhead Turtle gliding majestically overhead. This attraction offers multiple viewing angles, making it even more captivating.

In addition to the marvelous enclosures, guests can enjoy talks and feeding presentations throughout the day. The Otter Feeding Presentation at the Otter Oasis takes place at 11 am, followed by the Penguin Feeding Presentation at 12 pm and 3 pm. At 2 pm, visitors can attend the Shark Wreck Reef Feeding Presentation. Knowledgeable staff members conduct these presentations and are happy to answer any questions from guests afterwards.

Tickets for the Oceanarium are currently £13.50 online for adults and £8.99 for Children (3-15 years). There are discounts for families and those with additional needs. There are also discounts for residents and special offers to look out for to make this fantastic day well worth the money. Your ticket is valid all day so you can come and go as you please, we arrived early and were at the opening before the crowds arrived.

There is also a shop and restaurant at the Bournemouth Oceanarium. Despite the day becoming quite due to a combination of the 25th anniversary and because of the weather, as this is a fantastic wet weather attraction, the food we ordered arrived really quickly and was very good.
