1.34 Official 2x2 Average!!! (4th in Australia, 72nd in the World!)

This one means a lot. (get ready for yet another essay)
In case you didn't know, in March of 2024 I got a 1.47 Official 2x2 Average, one of the biggest milestones in my cubing journey and will forever be one of my favourite results ever. But since then, I've changed so much as a cuber.
I've been sponsored, I've gotten to know so many more cubers more, it really feels like whatever position I'm in right now is so different compared to only just a bit more than a year and a half ago. But after going crazy in so many other events, up until recently my PR 2x2 average, the result I care the most about was still standing after all this time and almost became my longest standing PR. I knew it wasn't going to be easy to beat as it was very good for me at the time (honestly it still is pretty good right now), but the fact that I wasn't really getting anywhere that close to breaking it in such a long period of time made me question if I could realistically beat it again, and even if that was just a fluke.

But now, I've done it again. With an even crazier average, amazing scrambles with insane turning (full thoughts of the solves in the pinned comment) I finally not just beat, but destroyed my previous PR average by 0.13 seconds. I'm so happy to be back in the top 100 with a new best world ranking ever, and also to reclaim my NR4 spot that I had with the 1.47.

I can't lie, I don't know how long this one will last for. This is almost sub my PB Ao12 (1.33, although that itself is kinda bad), but on the other hand this has pushed me to maybe learn some more algs next year (relearn TCLL, possibly learn some LS) in order to have another shot at breaking it. I can definitely beat this on scramble sets I've received in the past, as I've definitely had better sets than this (cough cough MCD R2), and I don't intend to stop competing anytime soon so it feels like I will be able to perform well on another insane set that I may receive.

But enough manifesting, I'm so glad I was able to break past the barrier and prove to myself that yes, I am very much capable of results like this. Also huge congrats to ‪@NatFar369‬ and ‪@Benjamin_Kao064‬ on getting their 1.47 and 1.59 averages respectively, and to ‪@roman.rudakov‬ and ‪@PhoenixTVSpeedcuber‬ on getting their 1.14 and 1.43 averages to round out the 3.91 Oceanic Record 2x2 Podium! We completely destroyed the previous OcR podium of 4.30 and I believe this actually would've been World Record for a bit last year.

Also, huge, HUGE thanks to Mike from ‪@Speedcubenz‬ for sending me the new YJ MGC Beta 2x2, in which this was my first competition using it. I enjoy it a lot and despite a shaky first 2 rounds using it, I can confidently say it has dethroned the Elite as my main 2x2. (also it doesn't break which is a huge bonus :D)

It's my last competition in Australia for the year but not my last overall, as I'll be off to New Zealand to compete in their National Championship very soon. Getting this average is the perfect way to lead myself going into it and I can't wait to see everyone that's going there!
