In this lesson, we’re playing a groove over E7, the V chord in the key of A.
The main idea is to borrow triads from the relative major key — in this case, the ii and iii minor triads (Bm and C#m) — to create movement and color over your E7 chord.
Using simple dominant 7 voicings on the top four strings, we’ll build a funky rhythm.
