Old Kent Road (and nearby) Pubs

It seems almost mandatory when talking about the Old Kent Road to bring up the Monopoly board, but there is much more to this famous street in South East London than that. A thriving thoroughfare since Roman times, by the late Victorian pub it had 37 pubs along its run of just under two miles. Sadly today it's down to just two, but by looking down the side streets which run off it I find the usual handful of interesting pubs to visit, and discuss their architecture, interiors and history. Oh and just a very cursory mention of the drinks offering at each place, which is probably the reason other channels get far more views than this one.

Along the way we discuss bagatelle, where to keep a cow in Victorian South East London, sparrow shooting, a long forgotten orchard and the bizarre period of history where aristocrats like the Prince of Saxe Coburg could pick and choose which country they wanted to be king of.
