Grisaille painting is something I've always wanted to try, and this past week I finally gave it a go! Grisaille painting is a technique where you do the first layers of your piece entirely in black and white, later using that underpainting as a guide when you begin to add color. You can either add color in glazes or as opaque layers, it's up to you! I tried both to see which one I preferred, and while glazing is pretty cool, it wasn't quite what I was going for.

I really enjoy constantly pushing myself as an artist, trying new techniques and mediums and embracing life as a life-long learner. I consider myself a primarily self taught artist, and I'm aware I have a long way to go before I'll ever consider myself a master of the medium, but I really do enjoy the journey :)
