Character rigging can be difficult, especially at the skinning part. In this video, I will show you a quick and easy way to bind skin and properly set the skin weight, and get your character ready for animation.
Skinning is the tedious and hardest part of Rigging. If your mesh has inaccurate skin weight, your model mesh will be distorted or stretched when animate the joints. This problem commonly happens on the fingers and feet. In most cases, we will use the Paint Skin Weight tool to paint the joint's influences on vertices. However, in some cases, it's too much work to paint the skin weight, especially on the fingers where the joints are too close to each other. In this scenario, we can use the Component editor and rearrange the skin weight on vertices.
