10 - 16 Years Cheerleading Routine - "Iron Girls" IASF Junior Level 2 - 2019 AASCF Nationals

This is an example of a cheerleading routine for our 10 - 16 Years (IASF Junior 2) age group. This routine is from November 2019.

Cheerleading routines are what each team works on, at varying age groups and ability levels. This team is a level 2 team. Typically these athletes have some experience at cheerleading and are still building their skills.

Our experience of this age group (from BASC Director Helena): This age group loves working together as a team to put together a routine. The team is routinely challenged to build on their routine during the season, and work together as a team (without solid team work skills and a good attitude nothing works - which is why we think that cheer is PERFECT for building life skills for young athletes).

The unique difference with the Junior age group is that athletes are in various growth stages and to accommodate this, we teach our athletes to be well rounded in all stunting positions. This allows them to continue to progress through the levels, without getting stuck in one role or position. Further to this, BASC physiotherapist Helena is able to provide advice or guidance to athletes on how to adjust their training dependent on their stages of growth.

Routines include music, tumbling, stunting, jumps, pyramids and more. Everyone has an important role to play.

Our Coaching staff are very supportive, encouraging and experienced with helping athletes to find their place in a new space. Each athlete will feel successful, positive and confident within the team.

[Please note that age groups and divisions frequently change in cheerleading and this is an example from 2019. Team placings vary from year to year depending on the latest divisions and criteria. For example this is "IASF Junior" age group but it is not the age group that if you are placed in, you will necessarily be in.]
