Hey everybody.
In this video I restore a very rare multi tool. It was produced by Siemens-Schuckert a company that later was merged into SIEMENS as we know it today.
At first glance, the tool looks like a modern day Vaporizer. But of course its something else.
The multitool consits of several slotted, a triangle and a robertson screwdriver. The antique tool is all in all in an acceptable condition but the tool attachments are no longer usable. Reason enough for me to restore the vintage siemens schuckert tool.
I quickly disassemble the multifunctional tool and then begin the restoration by sandblasting the body parts. All parts are made of brass and I love brass. After sandblasting, I fine grind the cap and adapter on the lathe. This way I create a nice matte finish.
I only sand the main body very finely with scotch brite, so as not to damage the "Siemens Schuckert" lettering. I then renew the paint on the main body in a historically correct manner by japanning. This very elaborate process burns an asphalt/linseed oil/ turpentine mixture onto the brass tube. It takes me 5 hours per coat.
Lastly, the screwdriver attachments are restored. I straighten bent screwdrivers. Sand them clean and then harden all the parts. One tool attachment doesn't seem to be part of the set. I recreate it in a way so that it will seamlessly fit into the set.
Finally, i carefully reassemble everything and enjoy an outstanding and extremely rare tool.
This time I test a "LEO Lager" a beer which is brewed in Thailand. Its the first asian beer I try on my channel and I was pleasently surprised.
