Synopsis :
Ek Phool Do Mali (1969) is a romantic drama directed by Devendra Goel, starring Sanjay Khan as Amar Kumar, Balraj Sahni as Kailash Nath Kaushal, Sadhana Shivdasani as Somna, Durga Khote as Leela, David Abraham as Doctor, Brahmachari as Bahadur Singh, Shabnam as Shobha B. Singh, Bobby as Bobby K. Kaushal, Manorama as Champa, Shyam Kumar as Shamsher Singh, Praveen Paul as Mrs. Kumar, Brahm Bhardwaj as Mr. Kumar, and Abhimanyu Sharma.
The plot revolves around Somna, a poor woman living with her widowed mother, Leela, in the mountainous region of India and Nepal. She works on the apple farm of a wealthy widower, Kailash Nath Kaushal, who also runs a mountaineering school. Somna falls in love with Amar Kumar, one of Kailash's students, and they decide to get married after Amar returns from a climbing expedition. However, tragedy strikes when Amar and the other climbers are killed in an avalanche. A devastated Somna is molested by Shamsher Singh, and Kailash comes to her rescue. He offers to marry her when he finds out that she is pregnant with Amar's child. The marriage takes place, and Somna gives birth to a boy, Bobby. However, Kailash is impotent due to an accident and cannot give Somna the happiness she deserves.
The film explores themes of love, loss, and resilience, with a mix of romance and drama.
