My daughter mailed me the most wonderful gift: a beautiful vintage paintbox (pochade box). It's the No. 15 Eterna Oil Color Outfit by the long-defunct company Devoe and Raynolds. The box was probably made in the 1940s but I'm not sure. The box contained several old tubes of oil paint and an envelop that contained a few clues about a person who once owned this paintbox. It turned out to be a rather special story.
