NotaBene Chamber Group is an ensemble that unites leading Ukrainian musicians, award-winners as soloists with rich personal backgrounds. Founded in 2016 the ensemble has been affiliated with one of the major concert organisations in Ukraine, National House of Music since 2022.
Current members of the ensemble are violinists Andrii Pavlov and Maxym Grinchenko, violist Ihor Zavhorodnii, cellist Artem Poludennyi, pianist Roman Lopatynskyi and clarinetist Yurii Nemirovskyi.
The ensemble’s repertoire is notably diverse, spanning a wide range of styles and historical periods. It includes works from Viennese classicism to contemporary music and provides different instrumental combinations from duo to sextet.
The NotaBene concert geography consists of diverse venues and festivals in Ukraine including National Philharmonic in Kyiv, the Old Session House in London, Landesmusikakademie Ochsenhausen in Germany, Čiurlionis Festival in Lithuania, Sofia Music Weeks and Plovdiv Chamber Music Festival in Bulgaria, Hvide Sande Masterclass in Denmark among others. The ensemble collaborated with violinists Andrej Bielow and Sakkari Tepponen, cellists Hendrik Brendstrup, Oleksii Shadrin and Denys Severin, pianist José Ribera, clarinetist Julian Milkis and composer Ofer Ben-Amots.
The promotion of Ukrainian music is a significant aspect of NotaBene’s artistic mission.
During the 2024/2025 NotaBene made a recording of all chamber works by Borys Lyatoshynsky. This undertaking aims not only to preserve and popularize the legacy of one of the most prominent Ukrainian composers of the 20th century, but also to create a high-quality audio documentation that will introduce Lyatoshynsky’s chamber music to a broad international audience.
Beyond performance, the NotaBene is committed to nurturing the next generation of Ukrainian musicians. The ensemble has founded the "NotaBene+" project, which provides highly gifted students with the opportunity to play alongside NotaBene musicians, gaining valuable stage experience and professional mentorship.
