Former Indian all-rounder Sanjay Bangar’s son, now known as Anaya Bangar, made a powerful revelation in a recent interview with Lallantop, shedding light on the harassment she faced from certain cricketers amid IPL 2025. Anaya, who underwent hormone replacement therapy and gender-affirming surgery, dominated headlines last year as one of the few openly transgender figures in Indian cricket.

“There has been support, but also harassment,” Anaya shared. “A few cricketers even sent me unsolicited nude pictures. I’ve played with some well-known names like Musheer Khan, Sarfaraz Khan, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. I had to keep my identity a secret because my dad is a public figure. The cricket world is rife with insecurity and toxic masculinity.”

Anaya, previously named Aryan before her transition, played age-group cricket and opened up about the challenges of continuing in the sport post-surgery. Her story has sparked important conversations around inclusivity, identity, and the pressures faced by transgender athletes in a traditionally conservative sporting environment.
