Over time, the exhaust can become clogged or damaged, affecting performance and efficiency. Here’s a brief guide on how to replace the exhaust on a Stihl chainsaw:

1. Preparation: First, make sure the chainsaw is turned off and cool. Disconnect the spark plug to avoid accidental starting. Have the replacement exhaust, appropriate tools (like a wrench or screwdriver), and a clean work area ready.


2. Remove the Old Exhaust: Locate the exhaust cover on the chainsaw, which is typically secured by screws. Use a screwdriver or wrench to remove these screws and carefully detach the cover. Once removed, you’ll have access to the exhaust manifold, which is often held in place with additional screws. Loosen and remove these screws to free the exhaust from the engine.


3. Install the New Exhaust: Position the new exhaust in place, ensuring the gasket is intact or replaced if needed. Secure the exhaust with the screws and reattach the cover.


4. Test the Chainsaw: Reconnect the spark plug, start the chainsaw, and check for any unusual noises or leaks around the exhaust.



By maintaining the exhaust system, you’ll keep your Stihl chainsaw running smoothly and efficiently for longer periods.
