Mineral oil 500 viscosity was used in these old R12 refrigerant compressors.
 If you were lucky enough to come across a vehicle that is 30 or 40 years old or older.
And nobody has ever opened up the system or touched. It never added, refrigerant, never taken apart, open to the atmosphere. .
You will notice when you pull the vacuum because mineral oil does not absorb as much moisture like 10,000 times less than PAG or POE oil in today’s cars .
That your vacuum will get down below 500 µm within five minutes or less .
And you will easily obtain a final vacuum somewhere around 100 µm .
This is under ideal conditions, but it’s something you will notice the difference between today’s modern usage of synthetic POE or PAG refrigerant oil in the old fashion Hydro carbon-based mineral oil, refrigerant oil .
