In Wajir County — Kenya’s FGM hotspot with a 97% prevalence rate — the Brighter Society Initiative (BSI) led a powerful caravan under the banner “Komesha FGM Sasa”. From Wajir town to Barwaqo village, community members, religious leaders, survivors, elders, women, youth, and activists came together to break the silence on Female Genital Mutilation.
With chants of “Barwaqo Komesha FGM Sasa”, traditional dances, and strong voices from faith leaders and activists, the community pledged to protect girls’ rights to education, health, and dignity — and to end FGM once and for all.
