Toys For Tots on the New York Susquehanna and Western Railroad

In the early weeks of December, the New York Susquehanna and Western Railroad operated three Toys for Tots trains across their system. However, I was able to chase two out of the three. We chased the run over the former Erie Main between Binghamton and Port Jervis with SD70M-2 4066 leading the trip eastbound. The next weekend found us on the NYSW Southern Division where we chased the final NYSW Toys for Tots run of the year pulled by SD33ECO 3012. Along with these two holiday trains, their was plenty of passenger rail action as well in locations such as Port Jervis, Saddle Brook, and Boonton that we witness as well with NJ Transit running their Santa train on the Montclair Boonton Line between Wayne and Denville. Toys for Tots is a fabulous organization that does a spectacular job giving back to the unfortunate during the holiday season. None of this would be possible without the help of all the railroads that participated during the holiday season which made run like these just as special.
