This is the first session of a 3 part mini webinar series, hosted by ICM under the collective banner of AIME (Alliance to Improve Midwifery Education) titled Developing Competent Midwives - Principles and Approaches to Recognition of Prior Learning within Pre-service Midwifery Education, will bring together midwifery educators and other key stakeholders to share cross-country learning on approaches to strengthening midwifery education. The ICM will share the updated 2024 Essential Competencies for Midwifery Practice, their role in strengthening midwifery practice, education and developing competent midwives. The series will discuss how educators can utilise ICM/UNFPA tools and resources to develop competent midwives and a competency-based curriculum.
