This woodshed will hold at least a cord of wood. Your lumber should be pressure treated because it will be out in the weather and in contact with the ground and will not be painted or stained. The platform needs to be at most 16" on center because a cord of wood can weigh up to 5,000 pounds.
This woodshed can be easily put together in a day by even the least experienced builder.
The woodshed should face east or southeast to get morning sun and stay dry, while keeping the opening away from the prevailing winds that often come from the west or southwest. This orientation helps dry the firewood and the shed's foundation, while also providing a degree of shelter from the harshest weather.
