The UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), which is the main international instrument, on the protection of women's rights and the fight against discrimination against women. According to the declaration, violence against women is any gender-based violence.
The Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, which was approved in Beijing in 1995 at the Fourth World Conference on Women held by the United Nations, ensures that a gender perspective is reflected in all plans and programs at the national, regional and international levels.
Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating the Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (Istanbul Convention), which deals with the prevention of violence and the protection of the victims of violence. Georgia ratified this convention in 2017.
