Bon Jovi | Live at Edinburgh Playhouse | Final European Show | Edinburgh 1985

Whereas the band was still firmly locked in the opening slot position until December of 1986 at home, they managed to secure some headliner shows both in Japan and across Europe with their second album, making these concerts more interesting since the double amount of stage time made for more tracks that were largely forgotten afterwards. This was the final show of their European stint before they were to head back to the US and Jon took his time thanking the crowd more than once for their strong support!
Despite supposedly coming from the master tape, this one was unfortunately compressed to a 192 kbit/s mp3 and had a fair bit of hiss in it. The latter's not unnatural for a tape that old but the compression meant that the hiss was "mushed into" the audio as sort of metallic flirring.
If you look up the classic structure of Edinburgh's playhouse, it's obvious that a clear sound might well be hard to catch and this one also was a bit muddy and echoey. I stripped it harshly for a bit more clarity despite it uncovering some harsh frequencies. For a tape four decades old, it's still a very decent recording and there are far worse from that era.
