Chypre Siam by Rogue Perfumery & a Primer on Chypres

I adore Chypres, a genre of perfume that isn't as popular as it once was, but it hands down one of the most elegant expressions of perfume. Never shy, nor coy, the woman who wears chypres well is confident and comfortable in her own skin.

Today, I want to talk about a new discovery, Chypre Siam, which is loaded with real oakmoss - an ingredient that has been given the boot by IFRA more than a decade ago. But Rogue Perfumery is happy to produce perfume for the US only - which opens the door to using IFRA banned ingredients!

I'll also talk about what makes a Chypre a Chypre (structure and notes), and talk briefly about categories of the genre, offer a few other delightful suggestions, and name some classics you may not have known were Chypres!
