حضرت خالد بن ولید رضی اللہ عنہ ابتدا میں اسلام کے مخالف تھے اور غزوۂ اُحد میں کفار کی طرف سے لڑے۔ لیکن اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کے دل کو اسلام کی روشنی سے منور فرمایا۔ جب وہ اسلام قبول کر کے حضور اکرم ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا:

"یہ وہ شخص ہے جسے اللہ نے ہدایت دی ہے، میں نے دعا کی تھی کہ اللہ خالد کو ہدایت دے۔"

اسلام قبول کرنے کے بعد حضرت خالد بن ولیدؓ نے اپنی پوری زندگی اسلام کی سربلندی کے لیے وقف کر دی۔

غزوۂ مُؤتہ کا واقعہ

غزوۂ مؤتہ میں جب تین بڑے صحابہؓ (حضرت زید بن حارثہؓ، حضرت جعفر طیارؓ اور حضرت عبداللہ بن رواحہؓ) یکے بعد دیگرے شہید ہو گئے تو لشکر میں گھبراہٹ پھیل گئی۔ اس موقع پر حضرت خالد بن ولیدؓ نے قیادت سنبھالی۔

انہوں نے اپنی بے مثال جنگی حکمتِ عملی سے ایک چھوٹے سے لشکر کو دشمن کے بڑے لشکر سے بحفاظت نکال لیا۔ اس دن انہوں نے اتنی تلواریں توڑ ڈالیں کہ ہاتھوں میں تلوار نہ رہی۔

جب یہ خبر مدینہ پہنچی تو حضور ﷺ نے فرمایا:

"اللہ کی تلواروں میں سے ایک تلوار نے کفار پر حملہ کیا"
اور اسی دن سے حضرت خالد بن ولیدؓ کو سیفُ اللہ کا لقب عطا ہوا۔

وفات کے وقت کا واقعہ

حضرت خالد بن ولیدؓ پوری زندگی میدانِ جنگ میں رہے، لیکن اللہ کی مشیت سے بستر پر وفات پائی۔ وفات کے وقت فرمایا:

"میرے جسم پر کوئی ایسا حصہ نہیں جہاں زخم کا نشان نہ ہو، مگر میں بستر پر وفات پا رہا ہوں، جیسے اونٹ مرتا ہے۔"

یہ سن کر آنکھوں میں آنسو آ جاتے ہیں، لیکن یہ اللہ کا فیصلہ تھا تاکہ دنیا جان لے کہ موت صرف میدانِ جنگ میں نہیں بلکہ اللہ کے حکم سے آتی ہے۔

The Inspiring Story of Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (RA)

(Saifullah – The Sword of Allah)

Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (RA) was initially among those who opposed Islam. He even fought against the Muslims in the Battle of Uhud on the side of the disbelievers. However, Allah Almighty later enlightened his heart with the light of Islam.

When Hazrat Khalid (RA) came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to accept Islam, the Prophet ﷺ said:

“This is a man whom Allah has guided. I had prayed that Allah grant guidance to Khalid.”

After accepting Islam, Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (RA) devoted his entire life to the service and honor of Islam.

The Battle of Mu’tah

During the Battle of Mu’tah, three great companions—Hazrat Zaid bin Harithah (RA), Hazrat Ja‘far Tayyar (RA), and Hazrat Abdullah bin Rawahah (RA)—were martyred one after another. This caused fear and uncertainty among the Muslim army.

At that critical moment, Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (RA) took command of the army. With his exceptional military strategy and bravery, he managed to save the Muslim army and safely withdraw them from a much larger enemy force.

On that day, so many swords were broken in his hands that none remained intact.

When this news reached Madinah, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“One of the swords of Allah has struck the disbelievers.”

From that day onward, Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (RA) was given the title “Saifullah” (The Sword of Allah).

The Incident at the Time of His Death

Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (RA) spent his entire life on the battlefield. Yet, by the will of Allah, he passed away on his bed.

At the time of his death, he said:

“There is no part of my body that does not bear the mark of a wound, yet here I am dying on my bed like a camel.”

These words bring tears to the eyes, but this was Allah’s decree—so that the world may know that death does not come only on the battlefield, but by the command of Allah alone.
