I have been growing bananas in ground successfully for 5 years, and I harvest bananas from my banana mat every summer. You would think I could not grow bananas where I live, because we average 30-40 frost and freeze events every winter and see temperatures in the teens every winter, and a banana plant cannot tolerate a freeze.
