This is a video that shows how to make a half dollar coin ring without hammering. This method involves dies and ball bearings. Also I got all of my ball bearings at Napa auto parts. I also got a few at the machine shop. The main sizes I use are 18 mm for quarters, 20 and 23 mm for halves, and 24 and 26 mm for morgan dollars.

Some of the main tools you will need are a press (hydraulic a frame press is the one I use) and a ring sizer. Even though you won't need a mallet with this method, you still will need to have a mandrel if you want to check the final size.
