Behringer Cat / Crave / Circuit Tracks - Analog Chill Cyberpunk Dawless

This is a chill cyberpunk electro track with some beefy analog sounds. I've been re-reading Neuromancer and I just re-watched Blade Runner and I've basically been living in a little cyberpunk world in my free time, and that's what inspired this track. The middle section is inspired by the musical artist Rezz, with a nasty bitcrushed sub bass courtesy of the Behringer Cat and the Zoom MS-70CDR+. The Cat gets a little unruly in this one (much like the new kitten we adopted; pay no attention to the scratches all over my hands). Let me know if you have questions in the comments. Here are more details about the setup than you probably require:

All of the main bass flavors come from the Behringer Cat. This thing is capable of some warm, dirty sounds with tons of analog flavor. It's kind of a bear to design sounds on because the control scheme is very different from the Moog-inspired layouts that are so common now. But the oscillator section is super rewarding, with great sounding sub oscillators and lots of interesting texture available by blending the various waveforms.

The main pluck sound is the Behringer Crave. I think this is my favorite patch I've ever put together for the Crave. I'll try to cover it all, mostly so I can remember! The Osc Saw output is patched to the Multiple Input. The Multiple Outputs are patched to Osc FM to modulate the frequency of the Oscillator and Ext Audio so that the saw can be blended with the Pulse wave. So the saw is modulating the frequency which adds a nice texture to the pulse and also playing back. Next I have LFO Triangle out patched to Mix 2 in, and VC Mix out patched to VCF Cutoff in. Mix 1 in is not patched. This is how you can set control the mod depth when using the LFO to modulate the filter frequency, using the VC Mix knob. Without this patching, the LFO just modulates the filter between fully open and closed, which isn't super useful. With all that setup, I can use the Mix knob to blend between oscillator textures and VC Mix to modulate the Cutoff when I'm not hands-on with the frequency knob. It's a great sounding patch and although I didn't use it here there are good tweaking options with Decay, Sustain, VCF Mod, and Resonance knobs as well.

The effects come from the Novation Circuit Tracks (except for the bitcrusher). The Sequencing is all done on the Circuit Tracks. The Pad sound, which I think adds so much atmosphere here, is by ‪@A_Force_Truly_Evil‬ -- check his site out at https://sci-fiaudio.com/ if you're a Circuit Tracks user. I think it's from the Retro Futurism 2 pack. He also has a bunch of great sounding patches for Elektron devices. The samples are from my collection and were all processed through SoundToys Decapitator before exporting them to the Circuit to add some crunch and grit.
