i hiked the alps and cried (TMB day 1 - italy to switzerland )

🏔️ The biggest backpacking hike I’ve ever done.
8 days • 166 km (103 mi) • 10 mountain passes • nearly 10,000 m (32,700 ft) elevation gain — and yes, we camped!

Courmayeur 🇮🇹 → La Fouly 🇨🇭
Trail: Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB)

Day 1: Courmayeur ➡️ La Fouly — Camping des Glaciers
• Elevation gain: 1,416 m (4,646 ft)
• Distance: 24.65 km (15.3 mi)
• Backpack weight: 12–13 kg (26–29 lb)
• Took bus to Lavachey
• Heart rate almost always above 180 😅
• Burned 5,000+ calories
• Ate tiramisu (not great 🙃)
• Met 3 Thai girls + 1 Japanese girl
• 2 French guys hit on me (“you have good energy” 😂)
• Crossed the Italy–Switzerland border 🇮🇹➡️🇨🇭
• Slight rain toward the end 🌧️
