The job of stewards and stewardesses on ocean liners was often a thankless one. Passengers would treat these workers as less-than-human, despite stewards being essential to passenger comfort. Stewards worked in the galleys, pantries, saloons, restaurants, smoke rooms, and just about everywhere else. They cooked, cleaned, served, and often accommodated ridiculous demands.
In this video, we will look specifically at the lives of stewards in the Edwardian era of ocean liners which includes ships like Olympic, Titanic, Lusitania, Mauretania, Aquitania, and so on.
