The area along the border of Turkana and Baringo Counties has for years been some warzone with never-ending bouts of cattle rustling that more often than not lead to death. Hundreds of civilians and dozens of security officers have been killed in dare-devil raids by bandits over the years. This year alone at least 4 security officers have been killed in different raids in the region.
