Do You Have An Acting Technique? Learn To Have A Clear Point Of View And Show It Through Behavior

In the relationship stage of the Meisner Technique the actors should have a clear point of view towards each other and the given circumstances. From our viewing standpoint we should be able to tell who they are to each other, (siblings, lovers, friends etc.) and we should also be able to tell how they feel about each other through their behavior. All of this will be accomplished by the actors working off of each other emotionally without any dialogue.

By posting these videos we intend to share how exercises in the Meisner Technique are practiced as well as show how our instructors critique and help our actors grow.

A little about me:

I studied at the prestigious Playhouse West in L.A. under Robert Carnegie, who studied directly under Sanford Meisner himself. After several years of training, Robert promoted me to an instructor and I taught the Meisner Technique at Playhouse West. In 2004 moved to Ohio and opened up the Houde School of Acting in Cleveland.

Over the years we have trained many actors in the Meisner Technique and Houde School actors have booked many National Commercials, TV Shows and Films. Kurt Yue, Kellen Boyle, Sergio Sanchez, Jessica Craig and Diana Frankhauser are just a few successful working actors who have studied with us.

In 2020, we were put in a position that in order to continue training actors we would need to make a huge pivot, so we started executing online classes.

We have since been completely blown away with the success of the Meisner Online classes. We have had several students, who have never taken Meisner classes, reach the advanced level in a virtual setting! We have students all across the world training with us and we are celebrating their bookings regularly.

How we can help you;

We would love for you try out a free class. It is very important to see this technique live in order to understand the different stages. In your free class you will see demonstrations of stage 1 repetition up to advanced relationships. This will help you decide if the Meisner Technique is something you would like to pursue.
As an actor you will greatly benefit from building your foundation on a technique, it doesn’t have to be the Meisner Technique, but the Meisner Technique is definitely my favorite!
