Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have identified a vehicle of interest in connection with an armed home invasion in the City of Vaughan and are appealing for more witnesses to come forward.
Investigators have now identified a vehicle of interest, a grey Ford F150, that was in the area at the time of the incident and are appealing for further witnesses to come forward who may have information in relation to the vehicle.
Investigators are also releasing a video of officers responding to the home invasion to encourage any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come forward.
On December 24, 2023, at 1:52 a.m., York Regional Police received a report of a home invasion in progress at a residence in the area of Forest Drive and Harmonia Crescent. Three masked suspects forced entry into the home and proceeded to assault and hold the occupants at gunpoint while demanding money. Responding officers encountered three suspects and during the interaction, an officer discharged their firearm multiple times. One suspect was taken into custody and two fled the scene. A loaded firearm was dropped by one of the suspects and seized. No one was seriously injured.
Through continued investigation, the two suspects who fled were charged and two additional suspects were identified, who have also been charged. A total of five suspects face a combined 37 criminal offences.
