The Cervantes Institute at Harvard University organizes its sixth annual symposium, this year virtually and with the general subject: “Hispanism and Spanish in the U.S. over the Last 30 Years,” in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Instituto Cervantes. The conference program includes two keynote lectures by prestigious researchers: Luis Girón Negrón (Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures and Chair of the Department of Comparative Literature at Harvard University), on the June 3rd session, and James Fernández (Professor of Spanish Literature and Culture at New York University and Director of NYU Madrid), on June 4th. Each session also features six papers by researchers in the fields of Spanish language and Hispanic cultures from various universities and other institutions, covering diverse areas of research (Spanish language, sociolinguistics, Spanish-language teaching, teacher training, cinema, literature, translation, migration, and identity, etc.).
