An Ariane 5 ECA launch vehicle (Ariane Flight VA243) launched Horizons 3e and Azerspace-2/Intelsat 38 telecommunications satellites from Ariane Launch Complex No. 3 (ELA 3) at Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana, on 25 September 2018, at 22:38 UTC (19:38 local time). VA243 marks Ariane 5’s 100th launch, as well as the 300th launch for Arianespace family of launchers (heavy-lift Ariane 5, medium Soyuz and lightweight Vega). Flight VA243 had an estimated payload performance of 10,827 kg (weight of the satellites plus the dual-satellite dispenser system and integration hardware).
